High Mileage oil question

Why does it seem that most High Mileage oil is either conventional or semi synthetic. Finding a full synthetic high mileage oil requires you to order them on line.

Do manufactures feel there isn't much of a benefit to full synthetic in the high mileage arena?

I ask because I struggle with the idea of taking a vehicle that has seen a synthetic diet all it's life and switch it over to semi synthetic as it ecplises the 75,000 mile mark. That seems kind of backwards to me.

Mobil 1 makes HM synthetic as does Valvoline Maxlife. I'm sure there are others.

I`d think long and hard about going to a high mileage oil if you have no issues. I ran a few oci`s of Mobil 1 10W40HM,went back to regular Mobil 1,and now have a valve cover gasket leak. I since switched to Syntec,and will eventually switch to GTX. Victim of the switching back from high mileage oil can cause leaks rumor,or is there maybe something to that rumor?

Before the switch to Mobil 1 High Mileage,I had no leaks whatsoever.

The only real reason to use High Mileage oil is if you are finding leaks. Synthetic however is more likely to leak, as the molecules are of a consistently smaller size than semi-synthetic or conventional. Ere go, if you need a High Mileage oil, you are probably good with a semi-synthetic or conventional.

Otherwise, keep using a regular synthetic oil.

The oil will work fine! You can switch back and forth even after. There is no definitive fact it would leak. I have done it before with no issues. The HM stuff usually has a pretty stout add pack too.

I'd go up a grade instead. If its not leaking.

Why are you asking?
If you have a vehicle that's been on a synthetic (or dino) oil diet through its life and exhibits neither increased consumption nor any particular hard to fix oil leaks, there is no need for a high mileage oil.
Just continue with whatever you've always used.
If you have neither of the problems a high mileage oil might help alieviate, there is no need to use one.
Anyway, 75K cannot be considered high mileage with any reasonably modern car.
