High detergent conventional oil?

In about 500 miles (2 weeks), I will be completeing my Auto-Rx treatment in what looks like a very sludged engine and will be starting the rinse phase. It seems to me that a high detergent motor oil would be best for the rinse cylce. I have enough old stock Havoline (non-Deposit Shield) and was planning on using this. Is there an oil with better detergency? I had also thought of using a half quart of MMO for the last 500 miles of the rinse cycle.
Your recommendations please.

Personally, I'd use Havoline you've already got.

As for conventional oils, Pennzoil really advertises that their oil keeps your engine clean. Though I don't know how much better it cleans, or if they just push it in their advertising more.

Like I said, I personally would use the oil you already have.

My vote- use the Havoline you already have.

1 gallon of Mobil Delvac 1300 15W40 ($7.99 at O'Reilly's) + 1 Qt of MMO if you need 5 Qt.

Any HDEO will do. I like to use 15W40 because not only is it easier to find it helps offset the thinning effect of MMO.

Havoline DS, Pennzoil conventional, Mobil 5000, are all good. SM oils are really good at keeping things clean, so I doubt you would find a meaningful difference between any name-brand conventional, esp for the rinse phase.

And I would not add MMO or anything else during the rinse phase per ARX.

See what things look like after their recommended treatment process is completed before trying another product.

Pennzoil conventional went from 15% cleaning to 40% [claim on label].
So it should be a leader in conventional oil cleaning, at this point.

Still, if I had the Havoline just laying around gatering dust, I'd go ahead and use it.
Frank always advised using only very basic oil with ARX, nothing fancy, and no esters.
