HF swivel vise

As I mentioned before I have a small garage and no place for a work bench and need a way to hold my mower blade for cleaning. My garage is not finished so I went to HF to see they had and ran across this.

I can attach it right to one of the studs an it holds the blade good enough to clean it and was only $20 with 20% off.

I have that same one, use it for mower blades only. It works pretty good, no problems.

If forced to, I could clean it without a vise the same way I hold it still to get the nut off the spindle, just throw a block of wood in there.

On the other hand if you don't have a workbench, that does look Very Handy to have... and/or, build a fold down workbench if there is no room to have one otherwise. Wood frame, plywood surface, mounted to hinges on wall studs, a chain to suspend it at both ends, beats nothing.

For now I'm going to take a 2x8 and cut it down so it fit's between two studs and screw it so it's like a little shelf so I can get the vise a little further away from the wall.

I'll have to take a pic of my garage so you guys can see how small it is and why I have to resort to things like this.

If you have a garage I'm automatically jealous, no matter how small--beats my non-garage (as in, I don't have one).
