HF Hercules 3/8 compact impact Question

I have a Milwaukee 1/2 impact but I wanted something smaller so I purchased the HF Hercules 3/8. I really like the auto mode. Very balanced and quiet. Spins bolts off fast, but then slows down perfectly. Surprisingly quiet.

But… I’m tortured by that small ring on the tip getting sockets stuck. Happens with the Milwaukee, but this one is terrible. So I guess it’s me. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to tighten it? Put grease on it. Do I need specific sockets to fit on this type? Right now it’s getting stuck using a Tekton socket set. It’s not an impact set if that matters.View attachment 211850

Why didn't you buy one of the smaller Milwaukee impacts bare tool only since you obviously already had the battery.
My guess the HF impact will have a crappy battery compared to Milwaukee.

I don't want a workbench full of chargers for my cordless tools. At this point Milwaukee and a few Ryobi.
