Hengst E14H Cut

Out of my 2003 Carrera. I went the extra mile and cut the media out since it's a cartridge. I replaced it with a Mann.

How many miles and time on the OCI? Looks perfect to me.

Is it me getting old or is the media/filter look very clean? I’m guessing oil was M1 0w40 or EDGE 0w40 Thank You for c&p sir:)

This was my first change since I bought the car. A short interval of about 1000 miles if the window sticker is correct. The PO said he had the oil changed at a shop and used Liqui Moly 5W-40. They overfilled it and it smoked on start-up so I installed new Mann oil, air, and cabin filters and filled 'er up with the last of my Castrol 0W-40 and Syntrax 75W-90 for the trans.

Is that the "dirty" (outer) side of the media in your photograph? If so, that looks good!

Isn't throwing away a load of Liqui Moly after only 1,000 miles extremely wasteful (even for BITOGers)?

Liqui Moly has many different oil lines. Some are great, some are nothing to write home about. I didn't know which Liqui Moly 5W-40 they used, whether or not it was A40 approved, or why they chose to put over 10 quarts in the engine. I didn't feel like messing around with draining some out, so I dumped it and the trans oil and used the Castrol products I had anyway. I bought two cases of Mobil 1 FS X2 5W-50 and will switch to it as the car's primary oil at 170k miles.
