I guess I may have missed it? What did your friends son do when he was working? Skill set?
Is he willing to travel to other areas of the states that have work available?

I disagree. I walked past a local Best Buy and they had a sign up saying they were taking applications for the seasonal jobs right now.

Deliver pizzas, paint houses, mow lawns, shovel snow or whatever it takes. My son didn't graduate from college until he was 35 years old. He was married with 2 kids when he finally graduated. He worked a full time job and luckily he had an understanding employer who encouraged him as well. He can take some courses at the college he chooses online which would help as well. My sons salary tripled when he got his first job after graduating. It makes a huge difference this day and time. Thanks

What did he study/get his degree in?

Right on! That's awesome!

I see job openings all over. Both vocational and professional jobs. I cant fund folks (professional) with the right skills.

Even Technolog found a job at dunkin donuts. This guy doesnt have a college degree... If he isnt starting his own business, how does he really expect to get ahead without good training in a trade or something else to make him valuable?

I see a lot of people graduating college and the only thing they have is a student loan unless of course they go to college for free then they have a piece of paper.. sorry but those are facts

No kidding, but unless he has the means and drive to create his own business from scratch, some kind of training, be it vocational or college, is necessary for any kind of job that provides any reasonable level of pay.

You could take any kind of training or be any kind of skilled and educated person and be sitting on your butt.

But those who jump for others dont tend to make it very well if they dont have some higher education (trade or college).

its not a guarantee (nothing is), but it gets your foot into more doors.
