I've been racking the specs and I'm leaning towards M1 EP 0W20. But Castrol and Shells offerings look pretty enticing as well. Anyone have any experience with either lubes??
Most any off the shelf 0W-20 is "good" oil. I have used M1 AFE for 15K and it performed well. I have M1EP 0W-20 in the sump now and am about halfway to 15K on it. Find an oil that is easy to obtain for a good price and you will have selected the "best" oil.
We'll my commute isn't terrible. 17 miles one way, I'm way in the country so no stop and go. The weather in the summer sits 85-95 and the winters can be real cold. We hit -35 this winter, which M1 low pour and pumpability come in mind. A couple 300 mile road trips in the summer. I hope that helps.

Lubes are now enticing? Nice - we are free and loose with our adjectives here aren't we?

Eh, it happens. Hank Hill conversations are useless unless you hear his monotone voice.
I am thinking of PP 0W20 for my 2015 Forester 2.5L. I am happy with PP 10W30 for my Jeep. The Forester is at 1335m now, so sometime around 1500 I am thinking of the first oil change. Have an M1 ready to go. The Forester will be less costly in terms of QTs of oil. The Jeep is 6 QT and Ram is 12 QT. The Subaru is 5.1 QT. Hoping 5 QT will do it. Hate to buy an extra jug for .1 QT.

I've used the M1 and Castrol Egde 0W-20, Pennzoil Ultra (Shell) 5W-20 and they all did good as far as I'm concerned. Hope that helps.

What vehicle and is there a warranty to worry about?
I've had good luck with Amsoil Signature Series 0W-20. Wear metals over longer intervals using Amsoil were lower than M1 AFE on a shorter interval. Iron was 5PPM and 8PPM over 6.5K and 10K miles respectively using Amsoil vs 10 PPM over a 6.5K interval. Aluminum was 0PPM and 2PPM over 6.5K and 10K miles respectively using Amsoil vs 2PPM over a 6K mile run using M1 AFE.
I have no numbers for Castrol Edge Titanium(current fill) or M1 EP (waiting on rebates or it's getting returned) but will at some point.

You can't compare small PPM variances between oils. See Doug's article on the main page.
It's going in the Galant in my sig. Its out of warranty for a few months ago. The Avengers owners manual says it recommends SN GF-5 5w20 that meets Chrysler MS-6395 certs. I might stick with 5w20 in that.

If no warranty to worry about then give the 0W20 a try if you want although IMO 5W20 will do the job just fine for your needs( especially if synthetic ).
In the Avenger I would stay with the 5W20. Chrysler is really picky on warranty and they could hassle you over using the wrong weight even though a 0W20 and a 5W20 are both 20 weight oils at operating temp( one just flows easier when cold ). I personally wouldn't do it but it is your call.
