Not sure if RT43 would fit. I do like how they ride, and when new they seem ok in snow (once half worn, like any other all season). Great deal when on sale.

How many miles per year? I wonder if these tire will age out before wear out. Also, how much snow/ice traction do you need/want?

Yea the General RT43 is probably the best bang for the buck out there. They even work well in light snow.

I put a set on my MiLs car and they have doing well.

The RT43 gets high marks in Consumer Reports. Not just in snow traction but in ice braking as well. Where the Cooper CS5 get low marks in ice braking. I used to think the two tires were a toss up. But in this climate I need all the help I can get when conditions go south.

Goodyear Assurance ComfortTreads. You will see many good reviews about it on tirerack.

I've had the Grand Touring version for about a year on my Buick and they are very quiet and provide a smooth ride. I not a spirited driver so traction is good in all seasons for me.

235/55-17

Top choices are
Michelin Primacy HP
Bridgestone Turanza ER300
--Goodyear Excellence--
Hankook Ventus Prime 2 (or 3)
Falken EcoRun ZE914

If price is important, there's also the Nexen Nfera SU1

Goodyear has since replaced the Excellence with the EfficientGrip. Sorry for the mistake
