Help me choose the better oil

The 2.5, especially before 19 were easy on oil. @ almost 110k I’ll stretch HPS out to 6-7k from late spring through fall and it won’t use a drop. Even the 19-25 version of the 2.5 don’t seem to be hard on oil. I’ve got a tank of ethanol free 90 I’m working through now and she’s purring like a kitten with 4500 on the current oil change.
That's great to hear. Knowing it's GDI, I kind of expected the worst. However 70k in, and it doesn't burn a drop over at least 4500 miles.

The 2nd gen rogue (15-20) is multi port and not GDI. There was an analysis on a Nissan forum rogue, who ran amsoil SS a full 25k and everything looked outstanding, next to no fuel dilution. The 3rd gen rogue which used a 2.5 in 21 and then moved to the rattle box 1.5 turbo is DI. My 21 and 24, while I don’t know all the specifics, uses both DI and port injection. There’s a member here with a 19 Altima (DI and port) who posted a UOA and it looked like a port injection for the most part. I suppose with UOA, you and I could run extended intervals but, I choose to stay around the manufacturers recommendation. Doing a spill and fill every 20k on the cvt is more of a necessity imo. My cvt operates like new and drains spotless everytime. If Nissan had half a brain they’d change the recommendation of trans service and not destroyed their reputation because of it.

That is good to know. I was under the impression it was GDI. I still get a strong odor of fuel especially in the winter, when I pull the dipstick. But the oil does not turn black.

My truck is port injected too. With this in mind, might just switch to annual changes with HPL or AMSOIL SS and check a UOA to make sure the fuel dilution isn't too bad and the viscosity is in spec.
