My 1991 Honda CRX Si is in storage. It has 29,500 original kilometers (~18,500 miles) on it and has not been driven in the last three years. It was filled with synthetic oil and fitted with a Fram PH3593A (I had it sitting around) filter before going into storage. I am going to drive it next year and have begun changing all the fluids in it. I'm going to drain the oil and change the filter for the winter and this will be the oil that I drive with next Spring. I haven't decided what oil to use yet, but I have three filters sitting on the shelf right now: 1. Valvoline High Mileage 7317 (mfg by Purolator), 2. Quaker State QS14610 (White can, mfg by Puroltor) and 3. Super Tech ST7317.

I have these 3 filters for use in my 2008 Honda CR-V and even though the CRX uses the 3593 size, the 7317 size should work well.

IMO any will be fine. What you really should do is to use a wrench to crank the engine a few cycle (in the right direction) first to pre-oil the engine, that will help reduce the start up wear.

I've actually had my local dealer contact the Honda Collection Hall in Tokyo to see if they want it.

Not yet. I bought a 2008 CR-V this month from the same dealer I bought my CRX from back in 1991. He asked if I still owned it and what I was going to do with it. I mentioned that I would be nice to see it go to the museum in Japan, so he asked me to send some photos and he would try to contact the appropriate people. I haven't really researched the value of it yet, but I know that CRXs in decent condition, but with ten times the miles that mine has, are still going for big bucks.

Extremely tough to find with no rust, I'm sure it would fetch a good amount, especially with gas prices the way they are now. The HF would be even better in terms of gas mileage, but the Si is a little less common IIRC.

Purchased in July, 1991 and never driven in winter. It was never my daily driver. I would take it out for an occasional weekend drive. Later on, as I got older, it became very annoying when I was out for a casual drive and some punk would pull up beside me with a winged-out Civic and want to race. It has been in storage since 2005 and I'm hoping to drive it a little next Spring. My daughter is old enough now to sit in the front seat with me.

How do you attach a photo here?

You need a host for the photo. Attach the photo to photobucket.com or any other host site and than paste the link to the photo in a message here.

Very, very nice! I noticed you added some aftermarket parts. Make sure you keep the old ones. It will make it to a Honda museum quicker with genuine OEM parts.

Indeed, do you still have the original wheels? No offense, but I prefer the originals. You never, ever see a CRX in that good of shape around here. The paint's always dull, the bumpers are always dinged up, rust everywhere, usually a cracked windshield, missing hubcaps, etc. Most people don't take care of them, but they're one of my favorite cars ever built. I'd love to have that car if I could afford it at this point in time and you were in the market of selling it.

Thanks. I have kept all the original parts for the vehicle except the factory wheels. They were sold a loooonnnngggg time ago (you don't think about these things when you're young). I've actually started putting some of the oem parts back on (intake, steering wheel & exhaust). But, there was such an improvement in handling when I installed the Eibach Sportline springs and the 16" wheels, that I ditched the oem's. I still have the factory springs, though. I'm sure there is a set of OEM wheels out there on Ebay.
