Thanks for the Add. Happy to finally join in the "oil" discussion. Like most of you here, I am fascinated with the technology and progression of engine oil.
I come from a mechanical background. Aircraft maintenance Engineer in Canada ( A&P IA equivalent in US) . Also a pilot and aircraft owner.
Have been changing oil and working on all my vehicles since I can remember.
I currently own a Nissan 370Z Nismo and a Nissan Murano (263,000 km) .
I use Redline 5w30 with RP filter in 370.
Valvoline FS advanced 5w30 with same RP filter Murano. ( currently running a Pure one filter for testing) Will be going to Mobil 1 (Vietnam made) filter as I bought a bunch. LOL
The RP filters i bought in 6 pack was for both vehicles. Originally made by champion labs, they were good quality. The second batch, complete different internals, and confirmed by RP as deign change. Not going back to RP.
After more research, I see PG is the way to go for the Murano. Not sure what I will do for Z.
