Heat in 2002 maxima

I have an '02 maxima with manual a/c NOT climate control. The heat control seems overly sensitive and I find I am making more adjustments to the temperature control than in other cars I have owned. It is either to hot or cold, I never seem to find a comfortable temp. Thermostat and water temp is ok. Is this just a characeristic of this car or is something wrong

A quick re reading of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' showed a similar problem with soup temperature .
