Health issues: don’t ignore them

Glad you went Adam!

My brother-in-law is in fantastic shape. 60 years old, semi-pro pickleball player. Seriouly, on ESPN not too long ago. Fantastic shape.

Does not go to the Doctor. Ever. My sister finally put her foot down and made him get a physical and a colonoscopy. Took her forever, but he did it for her. Luckily, no issues. Clean bill of health, probably since he was in such good shape. He is getting better now at making appt's.

I don't get the fear of the dentist thing at all. Maybe 40-50 years ago but not currently.
I had my first root canal ever in April. I didn't feel a thing and I was in and out in about 1.5 hours.
I have 4 possibly 5 implants. I think I prefer those over the root canals I had decades ago.
Implant once they take the tooth out, the nerves gone. SO when they drill into your jawbone and do a bone graft, wait 6 months and then put the equivalent of a drywall screw into your jaw there is no pain, except the cost *LOL*

Many decades ago, parents always took care of our teeth and dentist appointments but that was before teeth got coatings to prevent cavities. Over time all those fillings, well, some would fall apart and if you neglected them, you got a root canal and cap with a post most times. But then if you live long enough, so far I am still here, those can loosen up and if you didnt stay on top of it, too late, so pull and implant. Other times no matter what it had to be done. SO around midlife I didnt take care of something if I thought something was wrong and well, I paid the price.

My first implant, maybe 15 years ago now was $8,000 at what I called the "Beverly Hills Dentist" in my area. Later on I got almost 3 implants for around 3k each. Insurance paid part of all of them. However insurance companies are getting stingy on that. Thank god I think I am done and make sure I go twice a year for check ups.

Biggest key and best device if you have implants are water picks. Actually I wish I used one for decades now, fantastic all the crap they get out. .
