Heading out to Harbor Freight with $200 in my pocket.
Need a torque wrench. Want a lot of stuff. Low profile rapid jack. Air compressor. Hmmmm...

Any suggestions?

+1 on the coupons. I normally make a list of what I need.

Are you buying that new high end torque wrench or the cheap $20 1/2 one? If you buy that nice Daytona jack that's $199 there will be your $200.

Composite ratchet, 1/4" &/or 3/8" drive.
I know they're popular because my get stolen, so light compared to solid steel stuff.

I have 3 torque wrenches from harbor freight (pittsburgh brand I think) and they seem to be working good enough for me. If I was rebuilding engines and stuff like that i would look into something better.

I would get a bunch of 20% off coupons for single regular priced items and keep running out to the car/truck & back in for another purchase. Plus the coupons for specific tools at their lowest prices and don't forget the coupons for the FREE stuff.

In addition, you don't have to spend it all in one day. The prices on HF tools & items are always there. And you can start collecting couponsbin the meantime.

There's always fine print specifying brands that those can't be used on so double-check.

They have a 3-ton Daytona, low-profile, on sale for $139 currently.

I was thinking of buying their tire changer but I'm wondering how good it could be for $40 bucks? Has anybody used one?

A few of us have one on here. I have one, and probably done 20 or so tires with it. Its paid for its self. Don't use them on Aluminum rims, unless you don't car about scratches.

if there's a sears nearby, stop by to get a $14 1/2" beam torque wrench. for the jack, costco has one for $100 and lifetime return. if it needs to be a hf jack, get the daytona with 5 year warranty. i think all other jacks only have a 3 month warranty. i just picked up a lightweight folding dolly with 25% off for $23

WAIT, DON'T LEAVE YET.
I wanted a quicker way to tighten Lug Nuts than using my Torque Wrench.
Ended up buying one of these at HF / $25.00 with coupon

I love that tool. I had one with the button battery and they gave me that one under warranty. Works great. Just used it for lawnmower blades.

Thanks FBVW....the only other thing giving me pause is that they seem to say it should be mounted to the floor ….in other words I can't use it and store it....is this correct?

I have all those things you mentioned from HF. Their cheap $120 8-gallon air compressor has served me well for several years now, It's not big enough to do sanding or tasks that are real air hogs, but it works great with impacts, nail guns, air ratchets and things like that.

I also have one of their steel low profile jacks, think it's a 3-ton. It is tough as nails, very heavy though. I paid about $75 for it on sale. If this is just for general household type stuff or hobbies, I recommend saving some money with the no-name (or is it Pittsburg, can't remember) floor jacks they have, skip the Dayton brand. I also have their 1.5 ton blue aluminum floor jack, but it's not low profile. That one I've had about 10 years and it's amazing.

Have the 3/8 and 1/2 torque wrench. Haven't measured accuracy or gotten in calibrated, but it does the job for lug nuts and hobby stuff. I did a cylinder head gasket job on my van with it a few years ago and it worked fine, so it's accurate enough.

There's many things at HF I will not buy, but these few tools you mentioned have worked great for me.
