I got one from Harbor Freight like this one but different and it works well for me. Built fairly well and allows me when working on the bench to see very little parts and such.

If you have a HF in town maybe when you are near go check one out.

I had one that clipped onto my glasses and it was not worth my time. The one I have does allow to flip up when I don't need it.

So two questions:

1) Can/do people wear reading glasses with these?

2) What level of magnification to I need to say work on the small parts in a carb if I wear 2.0 for reading? (Not watches).

I wear my normal glasses while using my optivisor*. I am not sure of the magnification, but mine has a number 12 on the lens, so I am guessing it means it either has 1.2X or 12" focal length.

This is the original Optivisor http://www.doneganoptical.com/products/optivisor

* note: Mine isn't the original optivisor brand. Mine is made by Bausch & Lomb.

I was at HF today doing some Christmas shopping for myself. I picked up the ones that were $3.99 on sale. They seem decent for a quick look. If I use 4 lithium batteries they will be more than the magnifier.
