But in reality is a Group III going to be that much better than their current Group II "dino" oil for probably 2 to 3 times as much? Or are they bringing out a 100% true synthetic oil? Even then if you don't change your oil every 10,000 miles will their "synthetic" oil really be better? After all their dino seems to produce great results in 5,000+ mile range. Perhaps it's due to a great additive package to help the Group II base oil. I use to be a 100% synthetic fan but with the advent of the new and "improved" dino and dino blend oils I'm now a serious user of Motorcraft 5W-20 in my 2002 F-150 w/the 4.6 and my wife's 2005 Explorer w/the 4.6. We go to around 5,000 miles guilt free oil changes. UOA's indicate this is more than adequate for the type of driving being done.quote:
