I'm trying to pick a 5w-20 oil to run in my Scion XB and I'd like to pick something and stick with it. I plan on changing the oil every 5,000miles to comply with the factory warranty, so I'm gonna stick with conventional, unless I can find toyota 0w-20 cheap enough around here. anyways, If you guys had to pick between Pennzoil conventional, Havoline, or Motorcraft, which one would you guys pick?

I would say Motorcraft since it is a blend and almost the same price as Pennzoil conventional.

PYB has always been a favorite of mine, someone is usually running some kind of OC special on it too.
All of these choices will work great. Lowest price wins!!

In fact in doing oil changes for family and friends who don't want synthetic I consistently stick with these three brands. Last time I had this choice I went with Havoline 5w30 for a 2001 Ranger 3.0, the time before that was a 2002 Subaru and it got Pennzoil High Mileage 5w30, time before that was a 2007 Fusion 3.0 and it got Motorcraft 5W-20.

Me,I think I`d grab the Havoline.
5k OCI, go with the least expensive, and no worries. Always liked MSS 5w20, but last I looked at Wally it's up to ~$17.80 a jug. Pennzoil Conventional is currently less expensive at Wally.
Havoline would be great too, and would be the least expensive ($13.24) jug except it doesn't come in 5w20 jugs, only the more expensive quarts, for some reason.

Do the Walmarts in your area have Havoline? Mine doesn`t. Wonder if they can order it for me?

Yep, all those I've been in this area (central/piedmont NC) carry it. I think I've read here though that Wallys in Eastern/SE NC don't carry it.
Next to QS Green, it's the least expensive major dino. Mobil Super 5000 is next. But unlike HavDS, QSGreen and Mobil Super 5000 come in 5w20 jugs at Wally.

well, in my area, the motorcraft sells for less than Pennzoil conventional at walmart, although not by much. Only place I can get Havoline is at my local advanced auto for 4.09 a quart which puts it above the other two. I just wondered which one you guys like quality wise since they are all so close in price. does one does one keep things cleaner inside any better than the others?
I guess I should clarify. I'm a little concerned about cleaning ability because I know some toyota engines are prone to sludging up, and I didn't know if the 2.4L is one of them or not. As far as I know the only cars they use it in are my XB and the Camry Hybrids. I was just trying to cut costs and run conventional instead of synthetic since I tend to change oil at 5-6,000miles, irregardless of what oil I run.
All are nice oils but I do know that Pennzoil conventional cleans very well...

Valvoline conventional and GTX WB never get mentioned as fine cleaning oils, for their price....why?
