I cannot seem to find this oil anywhere it seemed O'Reillys is the only place I could get it. But now they don't even have it in my area is it being phased out? Or what. Is this the same situation for everybody else?

Chevron is either dropping the ball on distribution or they make too much in other areas so as not to care. Havoline Pro DS is a very decent oil. I scratch my head on this one.

ProDS is on walmart.com? I've never seen it at Wal-Mart.

Fwiw, all the oreillys in my area sell it.AAP in my area used to sell it but now they only carry havoline conventional and hm.

I can order it through my local NAPA either in store or online for pickup, but they don't keep it in stock.

JHogan, I noticed you reside in Ohio. If your near the NW side of Columbus, the Napa warehouse store on 2665 W Dublin Granville Rd has it and in fact has
the Euro 5W40 in stock, too.

I just remembered that a while back someone posted a link to a site that posted market shares for motor oil brands. It might be this one in fact.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/445231/market-share-of-us-motor-oils-in-fast-lubes-by-company/

These stats deal with the fast lube side of the market but it shows Havoline has a decent percentage and growing in market share. Chevron doesn't advertise Havoline much like the others do with their brands, especially in the racing fan base. To me it feels like Chevron is missing an opportunity to expand the Havoline brand name.

I started my driving and oil change life with Havoline SAE 30 weight in the cardboard cans. I used it until it became scarce in the late 80's or so. The stuff is still hard to track. I have a O'Reillys not too far away but it's in a hoodlum area so I won't go there.

Sorry for the drift.

AAP stopped selling Havoline Pro DS about 10 months ago. O Reilly's has it on close out now as well. Chevron has not been doing a good job promoting their very good oils.

Pimtac that as a very good post. No need at all too apologize for it at all.

I never physically checked, but Walmart's site said they had ProDS available here in 5qt. jugs and quart bottles a few months ago, now it only shows quart bottles, unfortunately. I like Havoline's line of products but they have no gas stations here so perhaps don't want to bother with this market for lubricants...

It's disappeared from AAP near me, got some good clearance priced oil + Chevron rebate for under $2 /qt. a while back.

O'Reilly shows clearance price of almost $5 /qt. here, not worth it to me at that price.

Guess Chevron might be phasing it out at least at retail (maybe Havoline quick lubes will have it in bulk) but if so I don't see AAP or O'Reilly stocking a Chevron labeled / named synthetic in its place, so Chevron is just losing its slot on the synthetic oil shelves here.

I checked walmart.com, they have it in 10w30 and xw-20 weights. I usually only search for 5w30 because that's what I buy. Not a bad price on walmart.com.
