I have a 1994 Chevy 4wd with 4.3 v6 engine. Truck has only 43,000 miles and gets driven < 1200 mile per year. When I do drive it, I put about 20 miles at a time on it. I do 1 oil change per year with Havoline 5w30 conventional and supertech filter.

My question is, would the Supertech synthetic be better for me in this application, or is the Havoline ok. Thanks in advance.

Any conventional oil could handle the 1200 miles oil change. Especially Havoline that can be had for$1.18 a quart last time I was in Walmart.Stick with what you're doing.

Havoline

Cause of its high Moly content, it is a very high quality oil and its cheaper than SuperTech Synthetic.

I was at Walmart recently and I saw they had all remaining (SL GF-3 rated) SuperTech Syn for $1

Thanks for the replies. I've always had good luck with Havoline and guess I'll stick with it. Just wondered if there would be enough benefit from the Super Tech syn for such a long(time-wise) OCI.
