I have a chance to score a couple dozen quarts of the DS from Wally's land for $1.00 a quart. Should I pull the trigger?

As long as it's a weight you actually have use for, buy all that you can.

If that is type of oil you want in the viscosity you want, it is a bargain. If not, it may be a bad idea to purchase it.
You can't save money buying stuff on sale, if it is not really the stuff you wanted anyway before it went on sale. (Try explaining that to your wife.)

No, clearance price at local WM.
I got a bunch of 5w-20 at that price, about 40q.
Never any deals like these in the Wal-Mart I shop at.

I consider Havoline DS a top tier conventional.
If it meets the specs your application requires, buy it! I would.

I happen to work at a walmart and the reason the cut the price is b/c they are no longer going to carry it If they dont have a product that sells like they want it to the cut it off the mod. and clearce whats left. the Havoline DS is a big seller in my area it has almost as many facings as the castrol and runs 3.37 a qrt. $12 for a 5qrt jug
