So i was in Vegas in June for a few days . i decided to meet up with a Las Vegas food guy Danny the Medic . I met him at Zippys . Have not been to Zippys in a long time so wanted to try it out

My interest in meeting him is that we kinda have the same upbringing, but he on the east coast, and i on the west coast . Also wanted to see how the youtube personalities vs real life .

We met for lunch right after i got off the plane . He was on time . at fist he did not seem too talkative , but after a while he opened up. We talked about food, guns and life in Vegas . i also ask how he can make a living with less than 50k subs. He said he does this full time now , and he make enough to survive . while we were eating he was also making a video . interesting how little equipment is needed . We talked for about an hour and then a little more outside .

So how do i feel about meeting him? was kinda anti climatic. he was just a regular guy . nothing really special . i did not want to be in any videos so that may have not helped to get more aquainted . probably just another fan to him . he did invite me to go to SHOT show with him . Been wanting to go for years , but could never get in . i may take him up on it in Jan.

here is the vid. i was opposite of him . So have you any stories about youtubers you have met?

Yes!
I met Eric O from "South Main Auto" in Avoca, NY on my way back to Rochester, NY from State College, PA.
I stopped in Avoca, NY as I was passing the sign on the hiwy. I found the SMA shop and pulled into the parking lot, polite but unannounced and graciously asked his wonderful wife, Mrs.O if I could meet Eric.

Mrs.O, working hard in her office, was extremely kind I explained that I am a fan of the channel on YouTube. The shop had lots of vehicles to work on but, it wasn't one of SMA's crazy/busy days and Eric O. was able to spend a few minutes with me.

I introduced myself to Eric O, we shook hands and again I mentioned that I was a fan of the channel, where I was from, where I was driving in from(State College, PA) and he mentioned Ivan, who also has a YouTube channel as well, Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics in State College PA...I HAVE NOT MET IVAN!

We spoke quickly about his background and the work that was ongoing in the shop. Eric and I spoke for longer(~15 min.) than I'd thought he'd be able to and he was a perfect gentleman.

I'm sure I've met lots of small-time You-tubers (we all have) but the only big one I've met is Alex of Legit Street Cars who is local to me. He had a meet-and-greet last Fall which attracted about 500 cars. He's as gregarious and outgoing in person as he seems in the videos, and spent the entire day greeting everyone and talking to them about their cars.

I used to watch his videos when he actually made useful repair videos.

I wouldn't order beef stew at zippy's! But yeah I follow Danny. I like zippy's with the kids in Hawaii. Really great memories.

Here's my local guy. Serious business! Jason is one of the hardest working people I have ever met. Multiple channels too. Probably approaching half a million subs across his channels.

I was standing right next to Eric the Car Guy at a car show a couple years back. I looked at my wife and said "Hey, I think that's Eric the Car Guy" and he looked over and smiled and said "Yup". Nice guy, same in real life as he is in his videos.

I had no idea his shop was local to me until I was watching one of his videos (I had only seen a few at that point) and when he was videoing himself walking into an O'reilly parts store, I noticed the phone number on the door as he was walking in that it was the exact O'reilly thats about two minutes from my sister's house and I had been in that exact store many times getting parts for her various cars. I was just in there again the other day. I had no idea one of the car repair shops I had driven past a billion times was his shop. I've seen him a few times at other car shows since then.

I met ChrisFix at the BITOG Pennzoil Labs trip in Houston. He's a great guy and very personable. He is a marine biologist and if memory serves (questionable), he helped develop a robotic underwater vessel of some sort.
