This was used on my Firebird last summer. The filter sat in the garage for about 8 months before cutting it open. Some very aggressive driving with lots of time spent in stop and go traffic for car cruises. Oil used was Pennzoil High Mileage 10w30. It had around 3,000 miles on the oil change. Everything looked as expected. The media was intact and not brittle like Purolators that I've cut open. Pleats were straight and the media was a bit taller than the Carquest Blue that I cut open. I did not measure the media, though, so it's possible it had less pleats. This filter cross-references to the AC Delco PF47, Wix 51040, Napa Gold 1040, Fram PH3387A, Purolator 10111, etc.

Hey Derek, how do would you compare the Mobil 1 HM to the Pennzoil HM? Either one seem smoother/quieter than the other? Which one do you prefer?

Hey buddy, I honestly noticed no difference between the two. I did notice that Pennzoil HM was better for the seals as it stopped the leaks that the M1 HM did not (I used M1 HM before this run of PHM as well). For the 3k OCIs that I do, I would probably think the PHM would make more sense.

Yep, nitrile. The construction is very similar to a Wix, especially with the coil spring they use. It is identical to a Baldwin.

Looks good. Baldwin/Hastings uses a slotted/louvered centertube, similar to some of the lower tier Champ made filters.

Thanks for the pics.
