Has anyone done this?/opinions

My 98 Lesabre has the stock 205/70/15 tires (all season in good shape). I was given a set of snows in excellent shape size 215/75/14. I haven't tried anything and would welcome comments if using these snows would be advisable to use on the front for the winter. They are on ford rims from a Ranger truck so I don't know even if the rims fit or its worth getting rims.

The Ford rims won't fit a GM as I believe the lug pattern is different as is the hub. And should you get a set of 14" GM rims for those 14" snow tires, they too may not even fit over the front calipers of the BUICK.

The older FWD LeSabres had 14s, might be worth it to try a junkyard rim & see if they'll fit.

What are you going to use on the rear?

Never put just two snow tires on the front of a front wheel drive car The back becomes real prone to spin out with its non-snow tires

If you do put 2 snow tires on, put them on the rear. Counter intuitive, but for FWD cars it's the way to go as it will keep you straight if you lose traction instead of allowing the rear to slide out.

Ford Rangers have the same lug pattern as those Buicks. Try it out.

I try not to go overboard on this detail, but I'll chime in on my agreement. Only times I've lost control of a vehicle was with all seasons on the rear; and both times I just couldn't steer out of it. One was RWD and the other FWD. All seasons don't seem to have the side-to-side traction that snows have; once they slide, they like to keep going.

An update... The Ranger rims do fit.I was installing on the rear as suggested. However, due to their shape, the tires extend out about two inches beyond the fender. I will likely put them up for sale.
