fyi

The Amsoil filter is made by Hastings (Baldwin company) which a a major filter manufacture.

Who makes the HD oil filter? Fram? Imported? Anyone know? Bet HD will never divulge that.

Manufactured by Champion Labs. Decent filter, just overpriced like every other HD branded item. Should be a thread somewhere with discussion ... or is that on the V-Twin forum? Try a search.

I hade the same prob along with several friends on different H-D bikes, we found the leak was due to the vacume created in the air filter, by the carb when you go for wide open throtle. There is a simple fix, remove the hose from the head to the air filter backing plate, then replace it with an aftermarket filter for the head. There are many to chose from just pick the one that will look best on your bike that you can mount where you want it. Hope this helps; Vic

Or if you do not want to do that, Stick a MAXI PAD on the inside bottom of the filter housing, and change it regularly.

I have seen this done..

My 01 sportster did that too but only when I put a little too much oil in. Just a .5 pint is enough
to push it out of the breather.
