So I saw in the news that this guy stabbed to death his ex-wife this morning as she came to pick up the kids http://www2.nbc4i.com/news/2012/jun/10/8...it-ar-1065825/. I recognized the name and his picture looked kind of familar. I went to automotive tech school during high school with the guy. We spent about 5 hours/day at tech school for 2 years. I haven't seen him in over 21 years. It's hard to believe he'd do this. Back then he seemed like fairly good guy. There were definitely seemingly worse characters in the class. and he seemed someehat popular back then. His Dad was even an instructor in Heavy trucks at the tech school.

Sad story. You never know what people are going to do. A guy I went to elementary school with ended up shooting both of his parents to death when he was in high school (different school from mine). He then threw a party in the house with his dead parents still inside. NEVER saw that one coming.

Who knows what evil lurks within...
Being a classmate or friend does not give one access to someone's inner thoughts, and demons.
Everytime something happens bad,the TV interviewers ask friends, relatives, and neighbors what they thought of the guy....and its always "he was a good guy,he would never do that,he was so quiet and nice".....
Just goes to show, nobody ever totally knows someone else.Even if you are married to them.

Yeah that's very true. I never personally knew anyone before that end up later doing something like this. I remember one time in auto shop this guy got into a minor fight with some other kid that was kind of a smart elic and he being bigger just grabbed the other guy in a bear hug and didn't slam him to the ground or anything.

So it didn't seem like he was a person that would harm others. I guess it's like they say, it's the person you least expect. Who knows what was going on though. But to stab to death your ex-wife in front of your kids yet cover her up with a sheet and call the police to pick you up seems hard to figure.

Some years ago I helped a guy lay out a mountain bike race where I lived...we used the motorcycle trails we rode on and some other tricky bits we threw in. We set it up one weekend and next weekend I helped in the marshalling....had a meal and a few beers with him both times.

A month later he stabbed his girlfriend to death. Hard to believe I had been having a beer and laughs with a murderer...but completely normal people can just flip.

There was a case here where a man had a fight with his wife, she left, mother in law came over and he shot her dead in the driveway. Then there was a 10 hour standoff with police ending in him being shot no less than 20 times out of over 50 rounds fired by the police.

I came to work the next day and everyone said , did you hear what happened to kirk, it was him. He worked with me as a mechanic about 10 years ago for about 4 years time, I was at his house several times with my wife for bbq. etc.

I found out later it was a second wife and he had gotten into pain killers and booze. when I knew him he was a great guy.

I am real sad for those children. No parents left.

A real sad case happened with college friend, his sister by husband shot. 2 of their kids

I went to high school with a fellow (this happened while still in senior year)who decided he needed a nice used truck. He went to a small satellite lot for used vehicles that was manned by 1 salesman. When he couldn't be approved he stabbed the salesman to death with an ink pen and laid him out on top of the desk for the next customer to find. Once again, as stated before, he seemed like a pretty nice level headed guy. That and a bunch (i mean a bunch)of suicides is what peppered my high school years.

Yeah, while in HS had about 2 suicides per year, including gun to the head (at school) and hanging in tree to be found a week later.

had a distant relative (as in 4x removed) get shot by his wife in the leg during a domestic... while on intl holiday...

I had two friends that I was on the wrestling team with. One well lets say did not unspeakable things to a little girl, I believe she was 7 at the time. Then strangled her and dumped her body behind a dumpster. My second friend in our Sophomore year of HS broke into a elderly woman's trailer beat and strangled her then committed unspeakable things to the body. I could not write a fictional story with a plot line like either circumstance so it is true "truth is stranger than fiction".

A classmate of mine had parents who demanded perfection. He was told that he would be DISOWNED if he wasn't valedictorian. Anything less than perfection resulted in ridicule...they called him idiot, moron, dimbulb, dullard, retarded...after a poor grade on a midterm, his mother said she should have aborted him. He got a bad grade (I think a C) on a calculus test. (He simply didn't understand the subject...it was a college-level class.) He went home, wrote "You're right, I'm a failure," on it, left the test on the kitchen counter, and hung himself with an electrical cord in the garage. He was 15.

His sister (who found the body) was trading sexual favors for assignments and grades by age 13, ran away at 16, and is probably dead by now.

This guys arrainment is coming up on the local 10 o'clock news. They showed a clip and while he looks a lot older it's definitely the guy I went to school with.
