Notice how even though many companies are absolutely flush with cash they are still cutting jobs, which means that you have one person doing the job of two or even three people. Adjusting for inflation wages for the rank and file and even lower level management is stagnant or falling, I would say that most wages are actually falling today. Of course these same companies pay the executive management and CEOs many hundreds of times the pay of the avg rank and file employee who often times are poor performers or actually damage the companies long term health.
And for the employees that are still left even they are constantly having the prospect that they could be let go at any minute. This positively destroys morale.
Trust me, the "Dirty thirties" will be repeated.
What blows my mind is how this draconian behavior towards employees has now even migrated to the CUSTOMERS. From horrible or non existent customer service, defective products, to pricing.
It is clear to me that executive manglement is out of control. I blame a lot of it on the MBA crowd that has filled most upper level exec jobs.
These over educated under experienced people have little more in mind than showing greedy shareholders a next qtr profit at the expense of EVERYTHING ELSE.
MBA = narrow minded, short term vision.

I've contacted an SSD lawyer..we will see where it goes Monday. I have busted my butt all my life...heck even to make it through many surgeries..coma..getting out of a wheelchair.. I can assure you NOTHING I have faced has been easy. My dad always said "that's just life." Well put my size 12's on and see how far you get before you break down..so far I have managed 27 years.

It's not the 1960s anymore where anyone could "pull themselves up by their boot straps" or whatever and be fine. The abundance of middle class jobs has all but dried up. You're either an hourly peon or getting "fast tracked" through management, something that used to have to be earned. Things ARE different, as people have transitioned from a crucial resource to a disposable commodity in the eyes of employers.
Obviously greed, complacency, short term thinking, instant gratification, abuse of workers, etc. were all issues in the past as well, but the extent to which a select few are looting and pillaging at the expense of everyone else is just appalling. Rewarding poor manglement with golden parachutes cannot possibly work out well for the majority of us.
