Harbor Freight AC manifold gauge set

I've used my AutoZone set for a few years, and done dozens of co-workers' cars.

Just had to replace some of the o-rings, but otherwise seems fine. Not for professional use, but fine for occasional use.

wow.. I feel lucky to actually have an A/C Machine in my garage lol, sometimes I am spoiled by my tools... Haven't used an old school manifold like that forever, but the Robinair for $50 looks pretty good

The Harbor Freight manifold gauge set has, on the center connection where you connect the yellow hose, two fittings. One has a schrader valve in it, the other doesn't. What is the purpose of the schrader valve? Why are there two fittings there?

Is this so you can have both a vacuum pump and a can of R134a connected at the same time?

You can hook up a vacuum purge deice to the gauge set.

Don't let oil get in!

That Robinaire is at an outstanding price!
Consider going without a few lunches and getting that one recommended by TRAV.
That said, for occasional use the low buck one will do just fine.

HF updated the materials and they are much more durable now.

I have a set and they work fine. I paid $45 for mine though, as I had purchased them off eBay (not knowing they were HF).

That just makes me angry. I wish I had seen this several weeks ago.

Critic get the Robinair and sell yours on eBay. These are excellent gauges and well worth every penny.

With a hose connected, it can be frustrating to measure charge out of a can with a scale.
The can contents are a help - until the last one is needed with a partial fill. Even then, we can guestimate. With gauges and a thermometer, even better!
