These enhancements will be available on select model year 2022 Super Cruise enabled vehicles, including Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac CT4, Cadillac CT5, Chevrolet Silverado, GMC HUMMER EV Pickup and GMC Sierra.

New capabilities include:

  • Trailering. Customers will be able to trailer their boat, camper and more while driving hands-free.
  • Automatic lane change. The technology can indicate when a lane change is optimal and initiate the maneuver, while following signaling protocols.
  • Enhanced navigation display. Super Cruise compatible roads will be displayed in the in-vehicle navigation systems for vehicles equipped with the embedded Google Maps app and show routes available for hands-free driving, during route selection.

I thought people were already doing hands-free driving? They're certainly engaging in attention-free driving.
When I first heard about vehicles driving themselves I thought this is bad and will never work but like you say most people aren't paying full attention anyway so eventually may be a good thing.

I saw this was available on a Cadillac a while back. If it is similar then there is a camera on the dash that watches you to see your eyes are looking forward and "Paying attention". Even if not towing i could see the system being more aggravating then just driving myself. ...Until a human takes a "Paying attention" photo of themselves and mounts it in front of the camera.

My 20 Honda has nanny lane assist and even when not enabled the steering wiggles every time the car is not perfectly centered in the lane on hwy and it cannot be disabled. really just aggravating.

i mean if we’re gonna be honest the majority of people doing hotshot are texting and driving with their knees holding the wheel straight

distracted driving is a skill. this feature makes it better for everyone in the trucking business 👍
