I am wanting to install a tach on my 6.2 diesel. Any recommendations on a hall effect sensor setup? I could put it on the engine, or even on the rear driveshaft to get rpm from extrapolation.......but would be good to have on the engine. Thanks in advance.

Inductive pickup mounted to the alternator. Autometer offers a kit for this, just be advised you'll need to use it with one of their gauges.
