Had no idea such a thing existed

From what I've read, the 4 stroke ones are too heavy for easy operation on hills, and the oil does not lubricate the engine properly on steep slopes.

Husqvarna made some with 2 stroke engines and they were quite popular for mowing canal banks around here.

I had a flymo back in the mid '80's, back when I lived in a house with lots of banks and hills in the lawn. It worked great for mowing hills and banks, but was nearly worthless for flat ground. I loved it for that yard and it served me well, but for anthing else it just couldn't cut it. Mine had a tecumseh engine IIRC and the hose running up the handle had an air filter in it. You adjusted the height of cut, by adding and removing spacers on the blade mount. I was going thru the garage a while back and found two of those spacers. A neat idea that just didn't make the cut, as it were.
