Had a rental car this week with some unexpected twists.

Buying ex-rentals was my go-to for used vehicle purchases for years. Pretty sure this options is a thing of the past.

My 2019 Ram 1500 and Nissan Pathfinder were rentals for their first year of life. I've owned others over the years as well because they were excellent buys for me and I never owned one that had more than ~32K miles on it. I would usually get them with miles in the teens.

I would not want an ex-rental that saw ~2yrs and 60-70K miles of rental service unless it was dirt cheap compared to the competition.

I don't know. Once I rented a car and when I picked it up the odo only had 4 miles on it. I guess kind of the opposite. But I did a once-over and noticed a few things including some touch up paint on the bumper.
