Buy the biggest you can afford. My RSC is an AMSEC BF6636.
I’ve got a couple. Depends on whether or not you want fire resistance, but the cost goes way up as the resistance goes up.
For just a couple of pistols (actually, it fits quite a few), I’ve got this:

The specifications are not quite right, just under 20” tall, but it’s closer to 50lbs. It’s under a desk, where it can’t really be seen, and bolted to the wall studs and floor joists.
I think I paid about $200 for it.
I just got this one, too. Large size. Slides under a bed or couch. About $380. Bolts to the floor, or secures with a cable. Fits three MSRs easily. Very handy. Very well hidden.

If you get a safe, be certain that it’s securely bolted to the frame of the house. No, it can’t stop a thief with tools, almost nothing can, but it will slow down the casual thief.
Then, choose a location where it can’t be seen. If they don’t see it, they won’t be trying to steal what’s in it. A big box in plain sight with a lock on it practically screams “valuables here! Steal this first!”

There are some YouTube videos of how to break into the cheap ones in a very short time. Some of the low cost ones are pure junk.
That is a heckuva safe.. Makes my Liberty colonial look wimpy.
Lots of safes can hold two guns the problem with them they are so small they just pick them up and open them some place else. Mine has 16 door bolts and it made of plate steel not sheet metal. It weighs 1000 LBS empty. Just about as big as my double door refrigerator. If you're going to be a serious collector look ahead.
Any small lockable storage cabinet or document safe will secure them away for safety. Make sure the lock looks hefty enough to keep children out. Put gun locks on the pistols and put them in the locked box.
Purpose built gun safes that bolt to the wall or floor will help deter theft.
There are also options for quick access if you are planning to use them for home protection.
Your options are endless. You just need to figure out what function you want the secure storage to provide.
I have a Browning Prosteel. Heavy, I've moved it twice and very stout. It used to be big enough but it's not anymore.

then go with something with a simplex lock. V-line is made in USA and well made. But as was said above, someone could just pick it up, so bolting and hiding well is key.
Let me ask this
What type of weapon specifically and what are the odds of small children or others having access to where the weapons will be kept?
Safety is paramount and security is what it is but if the mission is "protecting" from a potential theft then you need a safe or hiding place.
If the mission is quick and immediate decisive action then access is the more critical factor.
A bedside drawer is perfectly safe and secure depending who may or may not have knowledge or access. ( or potential)
Not unlike child safety caps- is it necessary in your specific scenario?
The last consideration is the liability law in the specific state and does it mandate a certain level of physical security ( that has to take precedence)
Guns in the house, a safe is a must have. Second I recommend a monitored security system also. After that hardening any access point in your home to make it harder for anyone to get in. If you want to get really serious, then adding cameras to the exterior of home is warranted.
You have to look at your neighborhood and the crime statistics in the immediate area to see how far you want to go.
Burglary is a crime of opportunity they want in and out as quickly as they can without anyone noticing what they are up to.
Just having signs to a legitimate security monitoring company, will cut the number of people thinking about targeting you home by 95%.
I actually know guys with $50K - $100K worth of firearms in their homes that can't justify a $40 monthly bill for a security system.

We have a large gun cabinet. We have two smaller safes as well one upstairs and one downstairs the smaller ones are good for the hand guns.
Handgun.
It is a SW .380.
No kids will have access.
I would probably be fine in a drawer; however, I tend to be overly cautious with issues such as this.
I decided I didn't have enough money for a good safe, thus I didn't have enough money for "good" guns. I have a stack-on (?) in the basement, it's flimsy but I screwed it into the concrete, so removing it would slow someone down (maybe not long, guess where I store all my tools?).
As you should because there is no recall or self destruct to a fired bullet.
That being true and inarguable, even in industry "safety" is a "holy grail" but it has reasonable limits such as in your case where only competent adults would have access to the area in question.
