What does everyone run for gun grease? I am currently testing out some Lucas Oil Extreme Duty Gun Grease, but in the past I was an oil only guy. Any merit to "gun grease" vs a tub of wheel bearing grease?

This is for slides on pistols and any other high friction areas. Preferably would be NLGI 1 or lower so it wouldn’t be too thick in the cold temps
whoops thought he was talking about grease for a grease gun.. didnt see the forum subsection.

In that case I'd say oil is more important
not much grease is used in modern firearms.. except in specific areas.

Slip2000 Extreme Weapons Grease

Is what I have used recently. Seems decent. If abit wordy about how super duper it is.. but they all seem to do that to a certain extent.

Lubriplate 130A or Mobil 1 Synthetic wheel bearing grease for Garand.
NECO MOLY-SLIDE for any other grease application for firearms.

My West German made Sig P226 9mm gets Tetra grease on the slides. Same with my 1911s. Everything else just get regular gun oil

Depends on the application. What are you greasing?

TW25B is good for light applications. Mobil 1 Red grease for Garands.

Pistol rails and AR bolts

Edit: changed slides to rails. You know what I meant lol
I wouldn’t go any heavier than TW-25B. I have tried grease on some semi-autos, but while it felt smooth, it slowed the slide somewhat and could cause problems. Wilson Combat makes a very thick oil (they call it grease, but it is liquid) that is about perfect for AR bolts, though, as I have said before, most guns aren’t picky…

I've been using Brian Enos' Slide Glide for close to 20 years and see no reason to try others.
