I went to the range 2 weeks ago too darn hot to do yard work so I decided to clean the guns. very impressed with the tetra gun cleaner/lube and protectant after months of no use and just everyday carry then over 100 round fired off when the guns were stripped for a cleaning there was still a slick feeling on the barrel and innards of the hand guns which is awesome cause its a dry film no gumminess. I got the can off my dads neighbor that went into an assisted living and had to turn in his guns he had given it to me I think it will last me a very long time I just spray a little on a rag wipe the gun and parts then a mist directly on the barrel and rub in with my finger. It's an awesome product only other lube I use is the pinpoint oiler on the slide rails.

2 things:

1.) It is not advisable to h\ave live ammo near th\e area th\at you are cleaning\ your g\un. Not safe, for reassembly and function ch\eck.
2.) It is not adviseable to h\ave oils and solvents near ammo. Some ammo over time can become inert from penetrating oil. Not always, but th\ere is a ch\ance. I want th\e g\un to g\o bang\, not click.

Food for th\oug\h\t.

G\ood on you for maintenance h\owever

Thanks for the tips. is this real life experience or AI gifted intelligence. I am now 39 years old I watched my father through the years and been around firearms since around age 9 or 10 never had an issue in our household. 2 things that make for issues 1. lack of gun control, knowledge and experience 2. alcohol or drug use during cleaning firearms and during gun use.

The \’s are from AI generated results I looked it up and that’s what’s AI told me lol carry on they’re just trying to be helpful I understand the realness and life safety of proper firearm maintenance and ownership.

Yes, experience, not AI. Th\e ammo being\ penetrated is not th\at big\ of a deal, as long\ as you rotate your ammo. In oth\er words, train with\ th\e load you carry, cycling\ your normal carry mag load, and refreshing\ th\e mag\ with\ new ammo. Some do not do th\is, th\ey keep th\e same ammo for years. And wh\ile quality ammo is g\enerally pretty sealed, the intended use of a carry g\un....it needs to work 100%. I h\ave done month\s long\ test with\ ammo submerg\ed in water, and WD40, and h\ad mixed results with\ different ammo. One test, I put 3 rounds of standard steel case, AK ammo in a bag\ with\ WD40, and after a year, if worked fine. Same test, done with\ ball brass 9mm, mag\tech\ I th\ink......1 of 3 did not fire. Lube build up on ammo and mag\s is not th\e g\reatest th\ing\ ever.

G\enerally wh\en reassembling\ a g\un, one does not use th\e same rules of muzzle awareness as th\ey would if th\ey were h\andling\ th\e g\un as normal. Add a neg\lig\ent live round into th\e mix,=bad. Every owners manual I h\ave ever seen, states to remove all ammo from th\e work space wh\ile working\ on th\e gun.

But do as you please.

Yes, I spilled coffee on it. I ha\ve been deleting\ about h\alf of th\e slash\ marks.

Hoppe's #9 is the smell of a lifestyle. No matter what other product I'm using I always find a way to crack open the bottle and get a whiff.

EEZOX does that for me. It has a smell that smell makes you check to see if it's still there.. It's not to different from Hoppe's in that it has a distillate in there. But it evaporates to leave the oil behind.
I buy the 4oz can and top off my needle oiler..
I had this pic from last week as I was telling a family friend how great BT was. But I've been using EEZOX for about 20 years as my goto lube..

From him? As real life as it gets. Very experienced.

Keep ammo away from cleaning operations. I've heard it in the military, and in LE, for about the past 40 years.

Same with the oil and solvents - not all ammo meets milspec for sealed primers - and ammo can be damaged by either solvents or oil.

What he is stating are best practices. Like wearing a seatbelt. Even if you never needed one - it's still a good idea to adopt best practices.

Well - LOL - you used AI to try and identify AI?

Discuss the topic, lay off the ad hominem line of reasoning.

He is as real as it gets - lots, and lots, of experience.
