Feeling lazy for research, make it easy for me please. Which one will do a better job? Gumout's lower price is attractive, PEA is mentioned on the bottle and it can work upto 19 gallons.
I have been having fuel in my oil and it might be because of dirty fuel injectors? Althought I buy gas from Shell. I want to try some fuel additives to see if they make any difference.

It's in "Fuel and Fuel Additives: Gasoline and Diesel". Isn't that the correct forum?

As far as the OP's question I usually use Regane over Techron because of the as mentioned lower price to treat my 15 gallon tank.
It was my bad, they moved it here. I picked this one.

I've had two valid successes using Techron fuel system cleaner. In 1996, ran two bottles through a full tank in a 1992 3000 GT and the stumbling and overall poor performance disappeared. In 2009, ran two bottles in a full tank in my 2005 Explorer Sport Trac when the fuel gauge became sluggish and inaccurate. Apparently it's pretty good at cleaning the contacts on a sending unit, and it never returned after I switched gas brands.

Techron fan here, but probably going to switch to Gumout after my last bottle as long as it can beat the BOGO Techron deal's that are always in auto part stores' windows.

PEA is what matters. I just don't want a bunch of alcohol in the treatment bottle like seafoam.

PEA content in Regane is like 30%. How good is that?

In 2024, ran a stupid little backyard test on my riding mower. An undersized 15.5 Briggs engine. Had both on the shelf in the garage. I dunno, caught them on sale or whatever and use them in the cars every now and again. So, back to my suburbian Saturday lawn cutting day test. Tried the Gumout 1st. Did squat. Then Techron...nothin at first, then 15 minutes into cutting, noticed throttling up was faster, idling was smoother, no difference in gutless engine power. So, in conclusion, Techron won my boring Saturday lawn cutting test :). Don't know a PEA, from a CARROT, from a LIMA BEAN either :)

Do you fuel up with 93 octane to get the v-power top tier additive? I noticed the shell station i went to a few times near me only the 93 has the v-power additive(listed under the pump handle). I’m sure the 87 & 89 are decent fuel grades without the v-power additive. What gets me is the fuel delivery truck isn’t a shell tanker. I usually get speedway fuel, Sinclair which advertises an additive dinocare or marathon which uses stp additives.

No, just regular 87

Most of the tanker trucks are contracted out. ( Family member delivers fuel to all different name stations ) It's cheaper to contact out a tanker company, and just dump the additives into that section of tank when it's full. Less overhead, no employees, no bene's, no trucks. Just sign a contract to deliver the fuel. Cut & dry. I do think Sunoco has their own rigs to deliver the goods ( Oh, a Judas Priest song....LOL :)
