Ethylene-alpha-Olefin Polymer
Poly-Internal Olefin
No one remembers the EOP and PIO oils?
I remember the old Redline MSDS's.... were majority PAO and added ester.. I guess that is enough to call it ester based.... without ever saving the percentage of ester. I think the MPT and Torco also had majority PAO with ester oils too. I love how MSDS info turned into vague as hades.
Redline is still one of my favorite oils. Don't care that its not API/ILSAC since I'll take the z/p over greenie API any day. And, after looking at the 0w16 Toyota VOA, I guess Redline was right about that 500+ ppm moly. Funny how VAG allows more than API Z/P in their newest VW 508 oil spec too. And, Ford wasn't too happy about CK4. RL has been one of my favorite and quietest oil(on noisy valvetrains) for 30 years, guessing because they had the HTHS along with the moly, long ago.
GTL? haven't seen any negatives from using the SOPUS products.
Sump holds 6.5 quarts of oil.... maybe I should use a quart of Redline, Amsoil, MPT, Torco, Pennzoil, Castrol, with a pint of Mobil1???
