Group V and change intervals?

Not holding anything against you.
By the time you have to tear an engine down, it's too late to determine whether you used the wrong oil or the wrong OCI for that oil.
The purpose of a used oil analysis is to determine whether the oil selcted is suitable for the use an engine is put to for a given drain interval.
Most engines use neither coolant nor oil, regardless of drain interval, and seem perfectly fine mechanically until they're not.
Were I using something as costly as Red Line, I'd surely pay for a used oil analysis or two.
I do used oil analysis now, just as a measure of engine health as well as the life of the oil used.
A small snapshot of what's happening in the life of the engine.

Do enough (mostly inaccurate/inconsistent, it seems anyway) used oil analysis, and one has spent enough coin to actually DO a rebuild!!

Sorry, but I refuse to spend money I could be using to maintain everything else, and use a GREAT oil in the first place, on used oil analysis!

It makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER to me to use the least expensive mineral-based oil one can find on sale, and spend MORE THAN you would on a good synthetic, to do regular used oil analysis.

All motor oils can go for a long time without regard to the basestock if properly formulated. And there are all sorts of esters with different characteristics.

It is the overall formulation, not the basestock, that makes the motor oil.

+1.....Right on ! IMO....used oil analysis are an excessive cost that instead can be used for maintaining your vehicle.

Just do reasonable OCI's, with a quality oil, change the transmission oil every 30k to 40K & just do regular upkeep,....and most owners should be able to easily see 250K or more for their vehicles....which they were designed for.
