Group II Base oil prices

According to Lube Report, the North American market has is headed toward a surplus in group II base oils. So why have we not seen a downward trend in the market? I realize there's more to a finished oil than a basestock, but....

Here's something also interesting. Look at the price differences between the base stocks:

Because a lot of folks are willing to pay that much

Smart people who read BITOG with a critical eye realize 98% of applications can use low price stuff like Trop Artic or Havoline and the engine will still be running long after they are done with the vehicle.
