I don't believe I have seen one of those ads. I don't doubt you at all---I just have an adblocker installed.

Rather than leave the community, why not use a browser with one? Firefox for Android lets you install AdblockPlus, which I use. Or, you can just download the Adblockplus browser, which has an adblocker built in: https://adblockbrowser.org/

Ads are how most webforms stay afloat. The internet is too good to be true right now. Forums such as this someday will require paying.

I only see ads on my iPhone, never on my iPad for some reason. Not sure about on a computer since I almost never go on BITOG with a computer.

No problem with my computer that I'm on now. Its only on my iphone. Odd that its not on your iPad. I wonder what the difference is.
