I get a squeak /whoomp noise when I release the brake pedal on my toyota o4 highlander, only when letting up on the pedal, does it sometimes, not others. I think it binds the pedal and pedal does not fully return.
I want to lube the bushing and bolt that the pedal rotates on. Its upside down under the dash. Hard to get at.

Is there a spray (OIL) that exists that I can spray? wd 40 is not a lube, needs something like oil or grease but hard to get the grease into place , any ideas?

Sure, all types. I might go with something like triflow oil or Liquid Wrench brand lubericating oil or their chain/cable lube. Does the service manual indicate anything? Are you looking to disassemble or just apply as-is?

The liquid wrench products are. The triflow is available as pump spray, aerosol or drip bottle.

Another tip- I've started using little plastic "needle tip" type bottles marketed to e-cig mix makers for different oils. Allows me to buy bulk to save money... or to use more ho-hum lubes like ATF in place of specialty products.

the problem i have is laying on your back trying under the steering wheel trying to squirt it uphill into small and hard to even see spaces, thats why I need a spray oil, on a flex spout, would be best.
wd40 now comes with a flew spray spout but thats wd40, not oil

FSM says to use "lithium soap base glycol grease" to lube my clutch slave cylinder piston's rubber parts. Google results also indicate its recommended use inside brake master cylinders. Generalizing, this grease appears to be recommended for rubber parts inside brake and clutch hydraulic systems.

There's a lot of speculation about what it is. This link demystifies it:

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/do...0V499-1782.pdf

The link describes its use in a Toyota brake cylinder recall. The grease is applied to the internal rubber parts of the cylinder. The last pages contain the "material safety data sheet" which says it consists of 74%-79% base oil, CAS #9003-13-8, or butoxypolypropylene glycol; and 12%-17% lithium soap thickener. That explains its name and should provide good leads to those still curious.

The grease is available from Toyota parts counters as P/N 08887-01206, which I found online for $8 for 100g, which should last you and your wrenching buddies a life time.

Go to any parts store and they will have aerosol cans of "white lithium grease". Most brands will come with an extension straw. It will spray out a bit thin and runny, it will thicken as it dries to a grease like consistency.
