These are a suspension control arm/panhard bar "johnnie joint" type rod end which uses a spherical chrome plated metal ball riding in between two thick delrin races, held in place by threaded compression plates/adjusters.
The manufacturer suggests Super Lube grease be used in the zerk fittings.
Any other suggestions on what could possibly be better in this setup (Red Line, Shaeffers, Neo, Amsoil Polymeric Offroad)???
They DO suggest a lithium complex grease, whether it be mineral or sythetic based.

These things DO see a A LOT of stress/'pound-out' as they take the full brunt of every launch from a stop, load and unload upon accel/decel, and bump compression/rebound, as well as much movement during hard cornering.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Schaeffer #238

Another #238 fan. Great stuff for low speed. Tenacious sticky stuff that's good for about everything except high speed (wheel, generator, etc) bearings or places you don't want tenacious sticky black grease. I used to use a good quality universal grease on wheel bearings, ball joints etc until I discovered 238.

I have a few Schaeffer greases that I like and use for different applications. When Amsoil came out with their new Polymeric Off-road product I ordered some to try. I really like this new Amsoil product also. Another thing I like about the Amsoil greases is that you can buy single tubes instead of a 10-pack of tubes. Saves money and tube storage.

Both companies make excellent greases and you cannot go wrong with either.

Thanks, everyone.

Is the regular old red moly Red Line stuff any good in this app, or will it just wash out really quick in the rain/slush??

I ask because I already have a couple of tubes of this, including one in the grease gun.
