Got the 2nd consecutive set for my wife's 2003 Elantra today. We were VERY happy with the last set, so saw no reason to change and truly didn't see any better options for the price from Tire rack...

Still a GREAT tire for the money, IMO.

I have a set of these tires on two of my cars. So far I am happy with them, and would consider them again.

One car has had the General Altimax HP tires for about 2 years and about 10K miles, the other car for about 1 year and 6K miles.

Time and mileage will tell if my perceptions for this tire change...

+1.....have had my HP's for two years now and am extremely pleased. They might be the best bang for the buck...in tires. When ready...will purchase again.

BTW: I have increased PSI from 32 (recommended) to 36. Seems to provide better rolling and slightly better MPG....with no effect on wear.

General Altimax HP is a little old, I usually looking for newer design within a year or two, I think there are better tires than the HP and cost less two.

How many miles did you get with them? I have ~51k on a Civic, rated at 55k, still not to wear bars. Should get the rating unless a great deal comes along sooner.

Got a super deal on them 3 years ago.

They will be in consideration for the next set, along with Yoko Avid ENVigors, Avid Touring S or something else along those lines. Price will be a factor, just as it was with these HP's.

If it works and the price is right, no need to change a sure thing.

I wish other tire makers would take a page from that book with certain tires that have stayed the same while undergoing massive price increases ('cough' Pirelli P4 'cough').

I have always said, "if your happy with a product, buy it again!"

I've read some good reviews from owners of the Altimax RT's & HP's.
Lately, I have been focusing on the tires with the highest customer reviews for longevity, ease of balance(and tires that stay balanced longer), tires that customers are using on like vehicles and like climate situations.
I have been quite happy with my tire purchaces lately. More than ever before.

put general atlimax HP on my 09 vibe. the sneakers look great. got them for 89 bucks a piece at discount tire plus install fees/recycle fees

Just in time - it rained a lot today, and wife said driving was wonderful with the new Altimax HP - I am her hero now

When my current set of AS tires (solus kh16) wears out on the Tbird, i am getting Altimax for it, too...

I have the same on my 07 Civic and they've been great tires. I run them at 35-36 PSI. They've wearing well despite being directional and only rotated front to back on the same side. Plus, the tread pattern looks awesome (which is the most important thing, right?

I'd probably buy them again for my car. I decided against buying them for my wife's Mazda3 since it chewed through its first set of tires due to iffy alignment (despite being in spec) and I wanted to get tires that would see more positions after rotation.
