Got flipped off by a Prius driver

People that do not drive the speed limit need a license suspension for a few weeks. Above or below by a significant amount and i want you off the busy public roads. Same thing with you red turn arrow running clowns.

In most parts of this country, driving the speed limit makes you a dangerous impediment to traffic.
Right or wrong, that's just how it is.

That is true, if the entire freeway is going a few over, you better do it to.

I mean, if its 65, and everyone is at 75, the effective limit becomes 75. Not like they can pull everyone over. I'm talking to the guy who needs to do 95 in some large SUV that is not a cayenne turbo. If you are changing the flow of traffic you are doing it wrong.

Thats what the right lane is for.

It just irritates me when you got the freakin speed limit police going 64 in the fast lane.

Yep, if you want to drive slower than everybody else, do so out of the way of everybody else.
If you want to drive in the left couple of lanes, then drive at a speed that reflects that of everybody else in those lanes.
You otherwise create a frenzy of lane changing and passing on the right.
You're likely to get cut off hard and maybe brake checked by others as well.

Exactly. The 401 routinely is 130+ up here in the left two lanes. There have been times when it is even considerably more than that.

The thing about this guy was that he wasn't blocking the lane. He was driving somewhat slowly in a one-lane side street, and I got bored and weaved for about 50 ft. He turned, got into the right lane, and then flipped me off as I passed him and changed to the left-most lane.

We have a guy that has "52Mpg vehicle" stickers ALL OVER his Prius that drives around town looking down his nose at everybody else. They are out there.

So, he was obstructing the normal flow of traffic and should have been driving at a speed reflecting that normal flow.
I would have given him a couple of toots of the horn if he were really driving that much below a normal speed.
He could have always pulled over and gotten out of the way of other traffic had he wanted to exploit the EV mode.
Other people have places to go and people to see, which this Prius driver apparently didn't understand.

Personally, if I were told I had to drive one of these, or nothing at all, I would walk, ride a bike, or use public transportation instead.

And yes, I know there are many on here, and elsewhere, who would say the same thing if this scenario were posed to them about my car.

Happy to run thye speed limit!

Please explain, in detail, EXACTLY how I should run 55MPH up a 5% grade in a 33,000+lb vehicle with 210HP.

So I was a little bit mischievous and did some mild weaving in the 25 street before making the right turn. He's making the turn real slow, and I make the right and later pass him on his left to accelerate past him. I never made eye contact or even drove terribly aggressively. Then I notice the bird. Dude was maybe late 20s/early 30s and not grandpa. As I went past he was still driving really slow. Couldn't figure out what the deal was.

The Prius driver is somewhat passive, and that's not acceptable, but you driving somewhat aggressively is? 2 drivers doing the same thing at different sides of scale. Maybe he was looking for an address?

In regards to the other post in this thread, do we still live in a free country? When did a driver lose the right to drive the legal speed? I agree slower drivers should stay in the right lane, but they should still have the right to go slower if they want.

He has to compensate for his deficiencies.

I'm a little worried...I actually agree with you on this...in today's society, speeding has become the norm, so anyone driving the speed limit or slower are considered by the speeders as the problem. I agree, if a person wants to drive the speed limit, they should be able to without being subjected to tailgaters, and other crazy drivers...so long as they're driving in the right lane I don't see a problem with it...I also don't get this whole notion that if someone owns a Prius, or some other hybrid, that person must be some crazy environmental whacko or something...could it possibly be that these people just want to spend less money on gas? Lighten up people!
