I havent decided what to do with it yet, It's a 93 Plymouth Laser RS(same as eclipse and talon) 4G63 engine auto trans with overdrive, Blown motor. It's a very nice looking car and I might be able to locate a engine cheap, But I was wanting to know if anybody knew how reliable that tranny is. Because if there weak I may not keep it. I thought about making a cheap to drive beater to relieve my beater van of some of it's duties. But i'm undecided at the moment. I'm afraid the tranny is the weak link.

Sounds like the motor was the weak link.

P.B.

I dont think it got regular oil changes. I raised the hood and saw a crusted over penzoil filter and new right away that was probably the case. But the rest of it has been taken very good care of. I havent got much in it anyway, I can part it if anything else.

I will bite and give my $.02. It has been my experiance with the 3 Mopars that I have owned that the tranny is ALWAYS the weakest link. Dont think that will help you any but at least you got one comment/opinion.

Hopefully so. Just voicing my experiances.

I know what youre talking about. I have one as well that has been a problem in the past, And have seen many many others with problems. But I have no prior experiance with this tranny, So that may be good I dunno.
