GOOLOO GP4000 Jump Pack 43% off on Amazon

I find the brand names rather fitting. In a few years, the internal battery always turns into GOO, puffs up and goes SUPERPOW! Full disclosure... I bought this SUPERPOW several years ago. It worked well for a while, then started losing capacity jumping from 100% to 40% after a full charge, then refused to power on altogether, then began to puff up until the plastic case completely separated on its own.

Waiting for this to go on sale that may not come:

NOCO Boost X GBX155

My father-in-law had a Noco GB50 that did that same thing. I've had at least 2 portable cell phone charge packs also do that. I've also had multiple Duracell and Energizer AA and AAA batteries leak and mess up the flashlights etc. I still use them.

If these are lithium, I believe moisture is the cause. Water actually makes lithium batteries burn up and explode. Years ago, this happened to Samsung Note phones. They would explode sometimes.

I've been impressed by the "Gillaway 017" 5000A jump starter I picked up brand new for $19.99 from Amazon. Not only was it cheap to begin with, it got lost in transit for a month and Amazon refunded my purchase 3 days before it randomly showed up out of nowhere.

For free, it's been a real treat for jump starting dead mowers at work. Little guy will spin over a v-twin till kingdom come, and I've used it on units as large as a 4-series Deere without issue.

Arguably the best if cost is not a factor.
But other large Amp models from Avapow, Hompow, Gooloo, Wolfbox have all tested very close but just below the gbx155.
True story, last winter I pulled over when I saw a full size tow truck trying to jump someone with their hood up.
They were trying to use a GBX155 to jump a Mazda 3.
They couldn't get it to work.
So I used the the Hompow which I bought for $42... Vroom started immediately on the first crank.

Topdon good?
Based on what?
I haven't seen any real world project farm type testing on a topdon.
Purely my experience owning both. The Topdon is more substantial and seems to hold a charge just a bit longer but it’s close.

I paid about half of that for the Gooloo GP2000. Hopefully that is enough to start my Ram. I have used my NOCO GB40 on it which is only rated for half of the GP2000 current. The GP4000 sounds overkill for most applications unless they are severely overrated.
