Does anyone else have an issue with using Google Chrome and Comcast email?

When I want to send a message the message area does not allow me to put any text in it. If I save it as a draft and close it and then open the draft reopen it, I can then add text.

Big hassle.

Looks like you are not the only one having a problem.

Some more info.

Looks like using the HTML method mentioned should work.

Another option for email would be using a regular non web based email program like Thunderbird. Thunderbird has a Windows, MAC O/S and Linux version and I have used it for years.

Thunderbird is from the same folks as Firefox.

or you could just use IE9 or ff4 for email. or even opera.
its not like a virus scanner where having 2 installed is bad.

it will probably get fixed in the next major update.

Just forward your email to a good provider like Gmail. I absolutely hate Comcasts interface, but they will only email bills and account info to them, so I forward it to my gmail account. It's a good idea to have an email that isn't tied to your provider too.

If you would like to try Thunderbird below is how you setup it for Comcast Email.

There are also free email providers like Google mentioned above.

I have had good luck with a free AIM account.

Another good free email account is GMX.

These offer free Web Browser Email + free POP3 or IMAP accounts for Thunderbird or other email programs like Windows Live Mail, Outlook, etc.

Yet another free email account is offered by Live Email.

Live also offers up to 25 Gigs of free Cloud Storage among other stuff.

Live also offers Web Browser based email and POP3 for email programs but does not offer IMAP at this juncture.

Choosing Text instead on html under "options" does work fine.

I also went into preferences and under the composing link and changed the default to be as text instead of as html so I don't have to choose it every time.
