Goodyear Reliant (Walmart)

Just wanted to update. I got a set of these for my 99 accord several months ago. They seemed to be a good tire, especially for the price. I needed a set for my newly acquired 03 Camry (grandma stopped driving, grateful she thought of me when it came time to get rid of the car). Went with the same type of tire. Nothing to really complain about so far on either set. Have to see how they last, but they’re pretty quiet and have done well in fairly heavy rain.

My brother in-law and sister have those on their vehicles.

Excellent tires. Best feature - they balance well, no shaking. Reasonably priced, especially around Thanksgiving when they're on sale. Bought a set in 2023, then another set in 2024. Traction is still very good, plenty of treadwear left, no issues. One minor complaint: the sidewall is relatively soft. At 32 PSI with the car weight on it, the tire looks like it's going flat. Raised the PSI from 32 to 38 PSI, problem solved and ride is still good.

Bought them for brother-in-law as an early christmas present during Walmart's black friday sale. For $80 a tire and free mounting with Walmart+, the value cannot be beat. He has no complaints but I haevn't driven his Mazda.

I have a 21 honda hrv with 225/50/18. It came with cont pro contact tx and have 60000 on them with around 4/32nds left. I saw a set of the goodyear reliant in that size ar a local Walmart. They are 115.00 each...I talked to the salesperson in tires and they said that they sell a lot of them with no real issues with the reliant tires. I asked if they would exchange the tires if I was not happy with them with another of my choice and they said they do. I might take a chance and see if they are any good...The coni tires I have now have been good and only have a 40000 mile tread wear on them and I am at 60000 now with a few 32nds left so I am easy on tires...Might just give the Goodyears a shot...
If I had that kind of luck with an oem tire I know which purchase I’d make on my next set. I fear you’re going to be really disappointed going from an oem Continental to a Walmart (fly off the shelf) special. I’ve tried cheaper tires and got what I paid for. When I was younger and money was tight, I always went with tiger paws and thought they were great. When I got my 1st set of Michelins I was blown away. Primacy’s wearing well before the warranty and buying into the hype of cc2s and being very disappointed took me to Continental and I won’t consider anything else until I get stung.

I have them on my 1997 Accord and I had them on my 2006 Buick Lacrosse as well. They are very good tires for the price. Made in the USA, name brand, not expensive. Decent traction for an all-season and fairly quiet in my opinion. Treadwear has been fine too. I would, and did, buy again.

Maybe on the sport coupe someone said. The 2002 Accord Exl sedan we had came with a different type. Those may have been part of the sport package 2 door Accords.
Yes, from the '98-00 Accord coupe EX & EX-L 4 cylinders. I added them to an LX coupe which came with steelies/hubcaps.

I like them. Had never seen them around here. Now for those Steelies/hubcaps..... I am about to start a search to try to locate a steelie rim or two to place a full size spare into each of our vehicles.

Shoot I didn’t know Walmart + meant free mounting and balancing. Only one set was mounted and balanced there. The other was ordered delivered to my house and I had a local shop do it. We don’t have a Walmart tire center anywhere near here.

Unfortunately the CC tires wore fast on my wife’s Prius V. Too much money for 27k miles and worn edges both outer and inner all around. Looked like under inflation but they weren’t under inflated.
