Going to do an oil change on my Honda this weekend. I need to pick up an oil filter. Am I good to go with either the NAPA Gold FIL 7356 filter or the Purolator L14610 white filter? The Purolator is easier and cheaper to get.

Both will do its job well in my application? Just looking for some reassurance.

The white can Purolator is a fine filter at a good price. I wouldn't one it on my WRX, as I've used OEM then PureONE and WIX since. However, I've installed one on my wife's Civic. It should be fine for a daily driver and/or grocery getter.

The NAPA Gold 1356 crosses over to the Purolator 14610 according to my records. Not sure about the 7356 (?).

I'd also second the NAPA Gold 7356 as it has a silicone ADBV.

The NAPA Gold 1356 is the old filter that used to be spec'd for Honda applications. Honda started to put a nut near the base of the filter housing, and the 1356 had a base plate that was beveled out. This caused the filters to bottom out and not seal 100%. Since then WIX has migrated to the 7356 which has a recessed base plate. If you don't have this nut on your filter housing, you could probably use either.

I personally use the 7356 as WIX/NAPA would back it 100%. I've asked them (WIX) and they said that since they don't list the 1356 for Honda applications that they don't guarantee anything.

The WIX/NAPA Gold is a quality filter. It is white which kinda looks cheap but it's built well. Silicone ADBV, threaded end bypass and coil spring. Not trying to start a way here as the Purolator is still decent, but all of those features make me very happy.

True. The PureOne can be gotten pretty cheap with AAP coupon codes.
