Good Price for PP 5qt Jugs at Wallyword?

About a year or two ago I stocked up on PP 5W20 and 5W30 when it was $20 for the 5qt jug (and there were coupons as well). My stash is almost gone and I noticed its now $23.50. I recall the price on this was bouncing around quite a lot (both above and below this). I have not checked the price in some time.

I can hold off for 3-4 months before stocking up again. Is this a good price for stocking up or do they occasionally drop the price down closer to $20?

I think the only time the price might be better is if there is a rebate involved, or if you can find some older PP. I stumbled on a bottle that had its own price tag on it, 18.50, while the rest of the shelf stock was 23.50 (no stickers on the other bottles).

I remember reading about a clearance of older bottles but wasnt sure what the reason was (new API rating, new packaging, etc), but I havent found anymore 18.50 bottles since.

My price to add to my oil stash for PP, Synpower, M1 ... is $2/qt or less, the exception is PU at $3/qt.

Current price of $23.50/5qt jug is too high to stock up, wait few months then you may be able to get close to $2/qt with sale and/or rebate.

you could also get 5 quarts of syntec blend with a pure one filter for $19.99 . Make that 5 of them plus the roll of tape for $100.
Now apply the big40 coupon and the $20 valvoline engine guarantee rebate.we are down to $1.60/quart plus 5 good filters. That becomes $8/ oil change . Beat that!!

Unless there's been a recent merger I'm unaware of, how could one use the valvoline rebate on Syntec Blend?

Today I got 6 one gallon jugs of PP 5-30 at AAP for 84.94 (includes tax) using BIG40. 3.53 a quart. BTW I`ve used the BIG40 two days in a row,same computer,name and paypal. Got two Bosch Icon blades and 7 quarts of Edge 5-30 for 65.25 yesterday.

No way. Mine came out to $3.00 a quart, which would be $15.00 a 5 quart gallon. Walmart has 5 quart gallons at about $23.00 to $25.00.

That was my thought about a year or 2 ago, then last Spring I got 4 gallons Synpower for less than $0.80/qt after rebate, tax and stamps included.

You will never know what will be the price in the future. May be never below $2/qt, may be less than 50 cents a quart.
