As I noted in the "Who got their convertible out today" thread, got the Mustang out from under its cover and found that that I apparently left the door ajar enough all winter to discharge the battery. Got it going and took it to the dealer for "The Works" in which they assured me the battery was fine....until today. Went out and it was deader than a door nail. Both my load tester and my smart charger told me it was a goner too. So, got on line for the damage. Managed to get a AutoCraft Gold thanks to code ccabin for $65.92 out the door, installed in less than 15 minutes. AAP online is great.

Gotta like them discount codes. Easy shopping at Advance. They usually always have your order ready when you get there to pick it up. I have never had a problem.

I love AAP discount codes and their super easy rebates. I refuse to shop at PepBoys or AutoZone.

I have to confess I buy batteries at Wal-Mart...they're cheaper than the other stores and just as good. Last three I got were made by Johnson Controls...one is still cranking my Caddy after 6+ years.

Nothing wrong with that. They are my default option. I have had mixed luck with Wal Mart though. The last auto battery I bought at Walmart was in February 2009 was for my Ranger (the battery woofed in the Wal Mart parking lot--kind of an omen I guess.) I also have a Wal Mart battery in my Deere. Those are the only two out of eight Wal Mart batteries that I have purchased that have not had to be returned at least once. AAP is now first choice because 1) better warranty and 2) can't beat the price with the codes.

Wal Mart batteries are Exide sourced now.NAPA went from Exide to Deka/East Penn,Chrysler went from Exide to Interstate....what a wonderful game battery sourcing is...
